The Poet’s Ring is America’s epic poem! It is the first epic poem crafted in over 182 years. Enlightenment and Entertainment again appearing as One!

The Poet’s Ring takes its cues chiefly from Sir Edmund Spenser’s Tudor masterpiece, The Faerie Queene. Spenser composed his epic poem in a unique poem style consisting of 9 lines-of-verse with a melody orchestrated by ababb cbcc. The Poet’s Ring will utilize the much more famous English sonnet form, as invented by Sir Thomas Wyatt, but made fabulously famous by Sir William Shakespeare!

The influence of Ralph Waldo Emerson on The Poet’s Ring’s Genius cannot be understated. Emerson’s Genius will be most visible in each eBook’s Introductory Essay.

The Poet’s Ring is a series of “pulp” fiction type books (7” X 10”), and subsequent eBooks. The Epic will consist of a total of forty-one (41) books. Each book in fact will include an Emersonian qualified essay at the onset, followed by a Canto of seventy-seven (77) sonnets, with other poetic forms sparsely included. This structure is in accordance with some of the greatest Epics in our history. Such as, The Divine Comedy, The Faerie Queene, Paradise Lost, Paradise Regained, and Don Juan; their structure being established by the invention-of-division (Canto) brought forth by Dante Alighieri and his Divine Comedy.

As such, each Canto will reveal the Point-Of-View of my protagonist, the Poet. The Poet will address contemporary issues, with the intention of Solutions and Final-Thoughts. The main objective is to elevate the readers’ Point-Of-View—or the sublimation of our collective Mind into the Poet.

My Vision will be created in real-time, with each reader becoming a real character, within the narrative by simply being interested. You See, your interest is The Poet’s Ring! Or our world made anew. So the inspirations you will discover will be your own Thoughts, sexual desires, stresses, humors, and pains, which will resonate from the sonnets themselves.

Lastly, The Poet’s Ring will transcend The Faerie Queene, (The Poet’s Ring’s lyrical counterpart) by achieving a greater literary weight (45,290 lines of lyrical verse). It will follow the same moral philosophy but will instruct Itself within the influences of today’s economic, geopolitical, and world characters. And in the End, the Poet his Self will Find, he has become the Epic of which he alone Destined to re-establish for our global Genius.

REX W. PULLIAM, JR. {Poet}

I was born in 1966, in Richland, Washington. I would spend the next fifteen years moving across America. This was required because of my father’s career. The most memorable years in that period were the five years spent in Minnesota, between 1971 and 1976. Much of the poetic depth found in my epic poem “The Poet’s Ring” is from that period.
